The theft of online credentials is increasing at rapid rate !! Lack of awareness is the main reason behind most of Internet Frauds
Here i am sharing some Do's and Don't which you should follow while doing Internet Banking !
1) First make sure that website through which you are going to make banking activity is Safe or not !
Before entering the login id and password make sure that site is running in secure mode !! It can be done by looking at padlock symbol and URL of website . . It should contain https
2) Scan for Virus
Install a good Quality antivirus ! and check check every attachment before downloading for Virus ! If it contains virus then directly delete it . . Don't keep it in inbox !
3) Make sure that Its Bank original Site
Many times what happens is attacker sends phishing link to victim . It looks like bank original site ! But no . . its not original site . .Its dummy site specially design to get your personal information . Don't access website from a link provided in a link in email . Instead type address in address bar of browser to access that site .
4) Don't write it anywhere !
Don't write user id , password , ccv number on any piece paper , text document , email or phones !!
5) Don't access Bank Account from Cyber cafe's
I will suggest not to do internet banking from Cyber Cafes !! Reason behind telling you this so confidently is that in almost 80% of the Cyber Cafe's the Keyloggers are install ! This software records Keyboard activities.
Suppose in worst case you don't have any option except cyber cafe the use Virtual Keypad to enter Username and Password
6) Don't Save Password
Say no to Password Reminders . . Don't remember passwords
7) Don't share your Password,CCV
Remember one thing that bank will never ask you for username,password or ccv number via email , sms , phone or any other media .
8) Strong Password
Make internet banking password very strong which will be difficult to understand . Change password after regular interval of time
Be safe . . Be alert !!
