Government withdraws ban on bulk SMSes and MMSes

Government on Thursday lifted the ban on bulk SMSs and MMSs with immediate effect -- a day before the earlier stipulated deadline of August 31.

The telecom ministry had, on direction of home ministry, imposed the ban for 15 days on August 17. Later, the restriction was reviewed on August 24 when the telecom ministry increased the limit from five SMSes to 20 SMSes.
"After reviewing the matter again on Thursday, the ministry lifted the restriction allowing citizens to use text messages and MMSes without any limit of numbers with immediate effect," said a home ministry official.

As MPs cutting across party lines had pitched for a foolproof mechanism to check spread of rumours that led to exodus of people from the northeast in certain states, the government on August 17 had imposed the ban on bulk SMSs and MMSs for 15 days across the country.

As per that decision, no one was allowed to send more than five SMSs at one go and more than 20 KB of data from a cellphone for the next 15 days.

Though such a ban may not put a complete check on spread of false or misleading information, officials believed that the mechanism coupled with strict monitoring of flow of SMSs had certainly acted as a deterrent.
Thanks :)

HTML5 Past, Present and Future

HTML 5 aims to improve upon its predecessors by enhancing the language and support while still being compatible and understandable by current media devices and web browsers. The infographic  explains the compatibility with the various, existing web browsers. Chrome and Safari possess a higher compatibility rating than that of Opera and Internet Explorer – which both have a fairly low rating based on the analysis and research data. Research also indicates that HTML5’s trajectory will continue to grow to incredible heights in the very near future.

Open source. . We love it !! What about You ?

Everyone loves open source irrespective of the person being a geek, business person, home user nowadays even the licenced companies want to get open-sourced :P

well all of us know bout open source more or little but what exactly do we mean by the term open source ??
  • In production and development, open source is a philosophy, or pragmatic methodology that promotes free redistribution and access to an end product's design and implementation details. (credits :wikipedia)
Not always does wikipedia share information in a way common man can understand :P
All it means is that whatever project has been designed ,u intend to design, or just have an idea of the design, put it live open for everyone to view it ...each n every single detail has to be shared with the world so that people around globe who have interest in your idea or those who are working on same line can make things crisp and efficient by adding their own codes, designs, security and most of the time it so happens that you get the output much impressive, elegant n secure.

open source is like a brotherhood its like i help you but i really dont expect a payback rather i would be happy if you could just fund into my project :P

Hobbyist those who want to play around with the codes, when they want to make some totally new freaking project generally its not possible to do it all on their own , so they try getting info from here n there they assemble it , work on it if that works..fine !! if not then let the world know n u'll get a helping echo on the internet :D

Today companies go for linux OS, well there are multiple reasons like
1.free of cost
2.security is heaven
3.You almost get all the apps totally free ,and even if u want to get some customized app , the cost is minimal.

My word to you is help the open source comm.keep coding, funding n loving ..!!

Microsoft New Logo

It's been 25 years since we've updated the Microsoft logo and now is the perfect time for a change.

Microsoft unveiled a brand-new company logo Thursday morning, and graphic designers have given it a split vote.

The symbol in the new logo should look familiar. It’s likely the merger of the Microsoft Store logo with Window 8′s.

"It's been 25 years since we've updated the Microsoft logo and now is the perfect time for a change," said Jeff Hansen, general manager of Microsoft's brand strategy, in a blog on Microsoft's website. "This wave of new releases is not only a re-imagining of our most popular products, but also represents a new era for Microsoft, so our logo should evolve to visually accentuate this new beginning."

That's How My Neighbor Got Hacked !!

Hello people out there, I will tell you small tale on how my neighbour got hacked, so watch carefully n keep ur eyes on each word as i trace the page with ur anxiety.

It was a bright morning and ultima(for those of u who dont kno thats ur tech-dose author :) has a internet connection that supports wan (i.e u have ur DC++ stuff active on such networks)

gGenerally on this wan-circle u can see ur network neighbourhood (i.e you go to your network and you can see the connected computers on workgroup)

Now ultima was basically was out of his internet plan .

Now he wanted some free usage (better word-hack).... he thought of all the requirements of how he could use sumone's else net for free and he came out with the foll.

1.Username
2.Password
3.Mac-id

Username : i went to the workgroup, saw all the connected computers now i selected one specific user "prakash"
now our n/w ppl get name of format "***_untitled"
so i tried ***_prakash

Password: this part is damn easy the username is same as password

Mac-id : this part is a bit tricky, coz u cannot have a mac-id directly. u need to kno some of the cmd prompt commands like
1.ping

Now, We have a web-interface for checking the user's status on internet usage. so i went there and manipulated the username and pass... HIT n TRIAL n yess it worked out . I got into the account n then went for his present IP on the network.

Using the cmd command "ping"  i pinged on his IP

Second command :
2.ARP -a

When u type ARP -a you get the list of ip u tried connecting and thier mac-address...BINGO ..done

Now i have all the three things required but how do i use his mac-id ?
there are softwares which can help u to clone ur mac-id , for linux users it is in-built feature so you just need to clone the new mac-id and you are done .. HACKED ..yaay :D

5 SMS per Day : India

NEW DELHI: To check spread of rumours which has led to exodus of northeastern peoplefrom certain states, government banned from today bulk SMSes and MMSes for 15 days across the country.

"We have banned bulk SMSes and MMSes for 15 days," Union Home Secretary RK Singh told PTI.
The decision was taken after reports of widespread circulation of SMSes and MMSes containing misleading information about Assam violence, threats to people of northeastern origin living in other parts of the country and doctored videos.

The Home Ministry has asked Department of Telecommunications to implement the order through the telecom operators.

From today onwards, no one will be able to send more than 5 SMSes in one go and more than 20 KB of data through mobile phones during the ban period.

The ban came into force after Prime Minister Manmohan Singh said that spread of rumours by miscreants had led to people belonging to the north east to flee from Bangalore, Pune and some other parts of the country.

Noting that the guilty should be brought to book, the Prime Minister said that at stake was not just unity and integrity of the country, but also communal harmony.
"Any miscreant fanning rumours should be brought to book," he said.
